job purpose: The Continuous Improvement (CI) Engineer reports to the CI Manager and plays a critical role in supporting and implementing CI initiatives to improve production performance, reduce waste, lower costs, while also enhancing safety and quality process across the dairy bottling manufacturing facility. Leveraging their experience in the beverage manufacturing environment while fostering a collaborative working culture with the other CI members and departments will be crucial to success.

In this role, creating structured daily routines will be essential to understanding and addressing the needs of other teams within the plant. A focus on continued leadership development along with other Continuous Improvement initiatives will be crucial for maximizing cross-functional teamwork to solve complex problems and ensuring we continue to have the best culture for focused improvement. The CI team promotes a culture of accountability, while also supporting others in their passion for focused improvement.

responsibilities:



  • Analyze complex manufacturing and management in all areas of the business
  • Developing team members in CI methods across the plant including but not limited to Data Analysis, 5S, Standard Work, Centerlines, PMs, CILs.
  • Lead and support CI improvement projects along with problem-solving
  • Support both short-term and long-term improvements for all areas of the business
  • Be actively involved in the development of CI routines throughout the facility
  • Work with CI manager and support leadership needs as needed


skills/qualifications required:



  • Degree in Engineering, Math, Industrial Performance, or other Science or Technical fields. Lean Six Sigma Certification a plus.


  • Strong analytical and team-based problem-solving skills. Experience in data analysis for driving improvements in a dairy beverage environment.


  • Ability to develop and lead meetings along with various improvement discussions to align cross-functional teams throughout the plant.


  • Capable of leading and developing CI processes and team members across the beverage manufacturing plant. Capable of filling in for CI Manager when needed.


  • Ability to coach, mentor, and/or train other team members on best practices.


  • Goal-oriented and self-driven with high levels of personal accountability and discipline for team, company, and personal growth.


  • Experience with various methods of managing and tracking improvement projects with cross-functional teams.


  • Strong technical and/or operational knowledge in the packaging and processing departments of the dairy and beverage industry. Quality and Finance understanding is a plus.


  • Experience with waste reduction and tracking initiatives.
  • Strong leadership skills and/or a willingness to continue development further.
