We are looking to hire an Estimating Manager for our Building Group at our corporate headquarters in St. Louis, MO.

Primary Responsibilities



  • Manage a team of estimators responsible for creating accurate and competitive cost estimates for design-build projects, ensuring that all estimates align with project scope and client expectations.
    Work closely with architects, engineers, project managers, and construction personnel to understand project designs, identify cost-effective solutions, and ensure seamless integration of design and construction costs.
  • Prepare and review detailed cost estimates for all phases of the design-build process, including conceptual and final design, covering materials, labor, equipment, and overhead costs.
  • Analyze and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids to ensure that pricing is competitive and aligned with project scope and schedule.
  • Identify potential risks in design and construction phases that could impact costs and develop contingency plans and risk-adjusted pricing models.
  • Work with the design team to identify opportunities for cost savings and value engineering options without compromising project quality or client satisfaction.
  • Ensure that estimated costs are aligned with project budgets throughout the construction phase and provide periodic updates to senior management on budget status and any adjustments needed.
  • Collaborate with project managers to ensure that cost estimates align with project schedules and milestones, identifying any conflicts that could impact costs or timelines.
  • Participate in and/or lead meetings with clients, stakeholders, and consultants to present cost estimates, explain methodologies, and address any questions related to budgeting and costs.
  • Stay current on industry trends, new materials, construction methods, and technological advancements to improve estimating accuracy and efficiency.
  • Ensure the organization maintains an up-to-date database of cost information, historical data, and market trends for use in future estimates.
  • Prepare cost estimate reports and presentations for internal stakeholders and clients, summarizing key assumptions, project scope, and cost analysis.


Minimum Qualifications



  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 7+ years' in the construction, engineering, design-build, or related industries performing the similar primary responsibilities listed.
  • Strong leadership and management skills in directing an organization, department, or group.
  • Advanced with Microsoft Office Suite including excel and estimating database software
  • Advanced knowledge of construction takeoff programs
  • Advanced knowledge of bid solicitation software
  • Systematic planner who attends to details with accuracy and focus
  • Team oriented
