M1 is looking for an Aircraft Mechanic II who will perform maintenance on aircraft structure, landing gear,
flight surfaces and controls, hydraulics, engines, avionics, armament, gear boxes, rotor systems, plane captain
qualifications, flight schedule and operations, ventilation and heating systems and phase and preservation
services.
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
* Repair and rebuild all aircraft systems to include aircraft structures, engine/gearbox/rotor, and
avionics. Blades and fuselage, and functional components include rigging, surface controls,
plumbing and hydraulic units, ensuring hand tools, power tools, machines and equipment such as
shears, sheet metal brake, welding equipment, rivet guns, and drills are being used properly. Wire
cannon plugs, system avionic boxes, rewire, cockpit avionics. Paint/corrosion on all aircraft
systems.
* Reads and interprets manufacturers and maintenance manuals, OPNAV 4790, service bulletins,
technical data, engineering data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of
repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damage components. This will also include local GOP,
LOI, PQS, Safety Orders.
* Performs 175-hour, progressive, isochronal, phase, periodic, and other hourly or calendar
inspections, examines engines for cracked blades and oil leaks, inspects turbine engines and
components for cracks, corrosion, foreign object damage, burned areas, distortions, security,
warping, wear, and missing segments. Inspect engine turbine blades to detect cracks, distortion,
corrosion, burn-out, security or breaks, tests engine operation, using testing equipment. Replace
or repair worn or damaged components, such as generators, alternators, magnetos, fuel controls,
fuel pumps, oil pumps, and engine mounted gearboxes, and compressor bleed valves using hand
tools, gauges and testing equipment; removing engine from aircraft, using hoist or crane,
disassembling and inspecting parts for wear, cracks, security, or other defects, and repairing or
replacing defective engine parts and reassemblies and installs engine in aircraft.
* Adjusts, repairs and replaces electrical siring system and aircraft accessories, performs preflight,
thru-flight, and postflight maintenance inspections, and miscellaneous duties to include servicing
aircraft, including flushing gearboxes, cleaning screens and filters, greasing moving parts, checking
brakes and corrosion prevention of aircraft.
* Performs jacking and towing of aircraft, enters in the maintenance records description of the work
performed and verifies the work was performed satisfactorily; may service engines and airframes
components at line station making repairs, short of overhaul; required to keep aircraft in safe
operating condition.
* Repair and modify structural, precision, and functional spare parts and assemblies; and may
specialize in engine repair.
* Ensure safety procedures are followed for the following: adjustment, repairs, or replaces any
aircraft system and aircraft accessories, performs preflight, thru-flight, and postflight maintenance
inspections. Performs miscellaneous duties to service aircraft, including flushing gearbox,
cleaning screens and filters, greasing moving parts, checking brakes and corrosion prevention of
aircraft, this is not an all-inclusive list.
* Coordinate and participate in the jacking and towing of aircraft, entries into the maintenance
records description of all work performed including safety of flight items and verify the work was
performed satisfactorily. May service/inspect/remove/install engine, airframe, electrical,
ordnance components in hangar or on flight line.
* Shall be required to specialize in one or more areas; engine/airframes/electrical/armament
repair.
* Shall be responsible for other areas of aircraft that he or she may be required to fulfill other
obligations for aircraft maintenance or administration duties. This is not an all-inclusive list.
* Manage and supervise mechanics, ensuring timely completion of tasks and compliance with safety
standards.
* Approve time cards for team members.
* Housekeeping of all areas of work including shop; participate in FOD program.
* Comply with all safety requirements.
* Handling and disposing of HAZMAT.
* May need to participate and qualify in Aviation gas free program.
* Perform all other position-related duties as assigned or requested.
Qualifications and Experience:
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
* Good verbal and written skills and leadership ability are required.
* Minimum of five (5) years of actual and recent O-level H-60S/R/F/H aircraft maintenance
experience or equivalent rotary aircraft experience. Minimum of five (5) years' actual CDQAR/QAR
experience. Two (2) years must be performed at management level.
* Must be able to obtain and maintain all required qualifications in accordance with instructions as
outlined in CNAFINST 4790.2 (series) and local worksite instructions. Qualifications must be
obtained within the timeframe set by local worksite instructions.
* Will be required to complete a minimum of one or multiple Personal Qualification Standards (PQS)
for classification's qualification. PQS as needed for the following: AM. AD, AE, AT, AO, Plane
Captain. PQS and all requirements SHALL be completed within the allotted time as per work site
instructions.
* Ability to interpret complex technical manuals, perform inspections, and use specialized
tools/equipment.
* Ability to obtain required qualifications such as CDQAR qualification.
* Obtain all support equipment licenses for the position.
* Must be able to work with foreign countries/cultures. Work side by side with people of different
cultures and languages.
* In-depth knowledge of the applicable aircraft is required.
* Ability to use a computer, keyboard and mouse, and printer. Must be proficient using computer
programs Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and NALCOMIS/OOMA.
* Must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC) or Rapid Gate Pass.
* Prior experience with US Naval repair maintenance operations on military aircraft is highly
preferred.
* Knowledge and use of special tools/equipment required to perform assigned maintenance tasks is
mandatory.
* Must have a valid Driver's License.
* May require the ability to pass and maintain a US Government background security check.
* Must be able to work all shifts. Full time employment: however, 40-hours is not guaranteed per-
week. Working hours; must be able to be flexible, start time and end time will be dependent on
flight schedule and or overall tasking.
Working Conditions:
* Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
* Constantly sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while
reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication. Constant
mental alertness, must possess planning/organization skills, and must be able to work under
deadlines.
* Ability to meet physical requirements for the position and pass any medical examination
requirements related to performing daily assigned tasks.
* Work is conducted in a maintenance environment, requiring lifting, use of various tools and
working under deadlines.
* Successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen.
