Chemist (Entry Level) Location: Birmingham, AL Pay: $24 hr. to $26 hr. Contract to hire Qualifications High school degree with 0-3 years' experience Accurate and proficient analytical skills/knowledge Ability to work in a heavily regulated environment. Good problem solving skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills Good interpersonal skills Good computer skills in Word, Excel and equipment specific software Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Flexibility in work hours may be required. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: Responsible for coordinating and sampling of incoming raw materials and finished components for use in cGMP manufacturing. Responsible for outsourcing testing including coordination with contract labs, shipping and communication of results to lab personnel. Maintains permanent lab records and communicates issues to appropriate QC management. Responsible for coordinating shipment and submission of samples for testing at external laboratories. Responsible for maintenance of laboratory glassware (cleaning, organizing, and replacing as necessary) Perform tracking and ordering of laboratory supplies. Ability to execute tasks by conforming to written procedures and protocols and recognize when a deviation from such procedures has occurred. Learns and utilizes all required forms, software, and documentation to assure compliance with internal and external requirements. Understands and follows the departmental expectations regarding attendance, accountability and communication with supervision. Completes all training prior to execution of any activity.
