What You'll Do



Summary/Objective:

The Senior PegaSystems Robotic Process Automation (RPA) Developer will lead the modernization, scaling, and operational improvement of our RPA capabilities at DCU. This role will focus on aligning our RPA development and deployment processes with modern DevOps standards-emphasizing automation, security, scalability, and proactive monitoring. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise, innovation, and a forward-thinking approach to drive best practices and ensure our RPA solutions are robust, maintainable, and future-ready.
Essential Functions:

Modernize and Scale RPA Solutions
* Redesign and optimize existing Pega RPA bots to improve performance, scalability, and reliability.
* Lead migration of bots to cloud-based infrastructure and ensure compatibility with containerized environments (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker).
* Implement practices for automated provisioning of bots, minimizing manual intervention.

DevOps Integration and Deployment

* Expertise in Pega RPA tools and frameworks (Pega Robot Manager, Virtual Studio).
* Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitLab).
* Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
* Proficiency in monitoring and dashboarding tools (Datadog, Prometheus, Splunk, Grafana).
* Strong skills in scripting and automation (e.g., Python, PowerShell).
* Design and implement CI/CD pipelines for RPA development, ensuring automated testing, packaging, and deployment.
* Explore and introduce version control and best practices for RPA code management using tools like Git.
* Develop robust rollback strategies to minimize risk during deployments.

Monitoring and Observability

* Implement advanced monitoring solutions (e.g., Datadog, Splunk) for real-time tracking of bot health, errors, and performance.
* Create dashboards and alerting mechanisms to proactively identify and resolve issues before they escalate.
* Conduct periodic performance analysis and capacity planning to ensure bots scale effectively.

Security and Compliance

* Implement security best practices for RPA, including encrypted credential management and access controls (RBAC).
* Conduct regular security reviews and audits for RPA bots.

Documentation and Governance

* Develop comprehensive documentation for all RPA workflows, processes, and deployment strategies.
* Define and enforce governance standards for bot development, maintenance, and retirement.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure clear alignment of RPA solutions with business goals.

Collaboration and Continuous Improvement

* Work closely with DevOps, IT operations, and business teams to integrate RPA into enterprise systems and workflows.
* Mentor and guide other colleagues in usage/application of RPA, fostering a culture of peer reviews and knowledge sharing.
* Continuously evaluate emerging tools and technologies to enhance RPA practices and capabilities.
* Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
* Strong communication skills to collaborate across technical and business teams; ability to engage directly with non-technical teams and assist in developing business use cases into technical tasks.
* A passion for innovation, process improvement, and modern software practices



What You'll Need




* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
* 5+ years of experience in PegaSystems RPA development.
* Proven experience modernizing and scaling RPA solutions, including migration to cloud-based platforms.
* Strong understanding of DevOps principles (CI/CD, version control, automation) as applied to RPA.
