THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will be responsible for managing the race operations in collaboration with two additional Stewards, making critical decisions regarding any inquiries and objections that arise during the races. You will assess whether any rule infractions have occurred. The State Steward is tasked with evaluating the legitimacy of claims made concerning horses throughout the racing event and subsequently prepares a report for the Commission regarding the racing programs.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • These positions are per diem
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Thursday, with a 30-minute lunch.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Additional Requirements:
  • You must possess ROAP (Racing Officials Accreditation Program) Steward Accredited.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Post Employment Requirement:
  • A Commission Employee License is required for this position or will be obtained once hired.
