DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Certified Nurse's Aide at SCI Laurel Highlands, under the supervision of a registered nurse, you will provide skilled care and personal care to inmates. Your key responsibilities include:
- Performing basic nursing skills and procedures to support inmate health.
- Completing required documentation.
- Collecting specimens (urine, feces, and sputum) as instructed.
- Assisting inmates with daily living activities and hygiene.
- Following nursing care plans and documenting care provided.
- Responding to emergencies, including performing CPR and participating in drills.

- Full-time employment
- Work hours to be determined; 8 hour shifts, with rotating off days
- 1st shift: 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM
- 2nd shift: 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM
- 3rd shift: 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM
- DOC is staffed by three (3) work shifts that cover the facility 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
- This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Active registration as a Nurse Aide in the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry; or
- Six months of paid experience in the care and treatment of geriatric or physically ill patients or residents.
Special Requirement:
- This position is assigned to a long-term or specialized care facility and requires active registration as a Nurse Aide in the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry.
Additional Requirements:
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
