Lab Research Supervisor Pharmaceutical Chemistry Full Time 83536BR Job Summary The Lab Operations Supervisor is responsible for managing research lab operations by organizing and delegating tasks to research associates and laboratory staff, ensuring seamless support for various research projects. This role includes overseeing all administrative and laboratory procedures, with a particular focus on purchasing, inventory management and compliance, to maintain efficient workflow. The supervisor actively contributes to research projects, earning authorship or co-authorship, and supervises the development and execution of major, multi-disciplinary research initiatives. Additionally, the role involves designing instructional and experimental frameworks, recommending improvements to department policies and practices, identifying and managing potential risks, and collaborating with stakeholders to plan and coordinate the setup of new lab and office spaces. Typically operating within a large or multi-facility laboratory setting, this position requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual with proven experience in lab operations management, strong leadership skills, and a passion for fostering a collaborative and high-performing research environment. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement. The salary range for this position is $75,700 - $160,500 (Annual Rate).
