Job Summary

The Supervisor, AP is responsible for the management of accounts payable activities and general ledger accounting, which includes processing and payment of invoices in an accurate and timely manner. The Supervisor, AP is also expected to delegate and prioritize projects and subordinate personnel duties and actively participate in the group's activities.


Essential Functions

  • Actively support the Company's commitment to safety and its "Core Values."
  • Represent the Company at all times with high moral standards while adhering to the Company's "Code of Business Conduct and Ethics."
  • Interview, select, hire, train, evaluate and terminate subordinate personnel. Develop goals and objectives and work with staff throughout the year to ensure goals and performance standards are met, actively participated as needed with subordinate personnel in achievement of responsibilities and objectives.
  • Supervise the direct reports or lead personnel for all responsible areas to ensure timely and accurate processing and reporting for these functional areas.
  • Understand roles of subordinate personnel and provide backup work support as needed.
  • Proactively research and review work trends, in order to make recommends and implement process improvements/automation opportunities.
  • Supervise staff to ensure the Company's invoices are coded and processed in an accurate and timely manner. Pursue discounts where possible and distribute 1099's on time and accurately.
  • Review detailed AP Aging and select appropriate invoices for payment given various criteria.
  • Resolve and assist Company personnel regarding problems and or questions in areas of responsibility.
  • Work with internal and external auditors to ensure that audits are progressing at the required rate and in an efficient manner.
  • Perform other related responsibilities, as directed.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred.
  • 5+ years accounting experience required; previous supervisory or lead experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong proactive, change management, customer service mindset and approach to business.
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in database applications; experience with PENTA a plus.
  • Proficiency in PC applications, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
