Carrier Gas Operations provides on-site air separation units producing nitrogen and oxygen gas production with best-in-class safety, reliability, flexibility and total cost of operation to our semiconductor manufacturing customers. Also supplying cost effective high purity bulk gas.

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

The Electronics Reliability Team supports and collaborates with Operations and our Semiconductor customers. This role will provide knowledge and experience in Industrial Automation and Control Systems. They will be assisting the Senior Controls Engineers in programming, graphics, and troubleshooting. They will support new plant startups and engineering projects by setting up the Engineering Computers, establishing communications with the AL network and with the DCS or PLC, verifying instruments in the field, and testing the program functions per design. Troubleshooting typically involves verifying signals in the field, going online with the programs to check the health of hardware, or analyzing where the code may be holding us out. The Controls Engineer will gain experience working with at least 10 different Industry Standard Manufacturers programming languages plus proprietary software. Additionally, they will work on projects that improve ALEUS's reliability and security, including OT Cyber Security projects.

Responsibilities

  • Support Startup and Commissioning activities for new ALEUS sites and plants. This includes loop check and interlock function testing.

  • Participate in the Design and Implementation of small Control System projects and Efficiencies projects

  • Develop, scope and implement control system modifications according to established Management of Change policy and in compliance with corporate and industry guidelines.

  • Programming our Autostart code for standard plants

  • Provide technical and troubleshooting support to operations for process events as it relates to control systems.

  • Provide training to junior engineers and pass on knowledge

  • Implement and supervise preventive routine maintenance of control systems and interfaces, including hardware and software.

  • Participate in development of long-range control system strategies for obsolescence and upgrades, as well improvements to the networks.

  • Support ALEUS Enterprise Historian PI/Prism data collection. Connect new systems to our network with different communication protocols and bring that data into the Historian

  • Perform Cybersecurity initiatives focused on hardening soft targets

  • Participate in incident investigations to evaluate root cause of control system related events, as well as technical and safety reviews.

  • Participate in plant level automation projects of existing equipment or new equipment installations including Factory Acceptance Testing, Site Acceptance Testing, project startup and troubleshooting activities.

  • Ensure all system configurations and graphics are backed up and archived according to established guidelines and policies.

  • Provide technical support in the development of SOP's as related to control system operations, as required.

  • Provide support during TAR planning, TAR events and start up activities, which includes working overtime - comp time provided

  • Carry a mobile phone and respond to requests for technical assistance during off-duty hours

  • Some travel required, hybrid schedule

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering

  • At least 5 years work experience in Engineering, Controls related experience Preferred

  • Experience with Standard Manufacturers PLC/DCS programming languages like Allen-Bradley, Modicon, DeltaV, Yokogawa Preferred

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Independent work capability with minimum supervision

  • Proficient problem-solving ability

  • Good communication skills, written and oral. Able to effectively interface with other engineering disciplines/organizations, plant operations, and customers

The Salary rate range for this position in Texas is $110,000.00 to $115,000.00
