LSC consists of eight colleges, seven centers, eight Workforce Centers of Excellence and Lone Star Corporate College.

Founded in 1988, Lone Star College-Tomball is the third oldest college in the LSC system. LSC-Tomball offers a wide range of academic and workforce programs and is a leading college in the health sciences. LSC-Tomball is the founding college of the lifePATH program, a four-year degree for adults with cognitive disabilities. LSC-Tomball enjoys a joint library partnership with Harris County Public Library, and we offer an early college high school with the Tomball Independent School District.

Job Description

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

Responsible for coordination of support functions such as scheduling, communications, workflows, supplies, information processing, and staff support. May be responsible for coordinating budget planning process and for tracking and coordinating budget expenditures. Makes and communicates process decisions based on best practices. This is a temporary, grant-funded position. Continuation of the position from one academic year to the next is dependent upon continued grant funding.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Coordinate daily operations of Science First Success Center. Maintain current knowledge base for assigned areas and acts as a point of contact for internal and external customers.
  2. Schedule and prioritize work and activities and organize training materials for faculty and staff.
  3. Create and submit a variety of reports related to assigned areas and presents findings. Make presentations to both internal and external customers.
  4. Coordinate Sci Fi Center and campus calendars and schedules. Plan, schedule, and coordinate various meetings, seminars, events, workshops, visits, and preparation, marketing and training materials, and general support
  5. Responsible for ensuring and maintaining compliance with local, state, federal compliance of processes and documentation within assigned area
  6. Monitor and control resources such as office supplies and loaning equipment to students and staff as needed. Submit requisitions and review and approve or deny purchase requests in accordance with the budget. Assist with management of the department budget
  7. Assist with creating methods of tracking students, events, workshops. Analyze results and make recommendations for revisions
  8. Assist with or provide event preparation and give Sci Fi Center Tours
  9. Take part in and/or take lead on special projects as needed
  10. Educate and provide students with information on resources and services available at the campus and center
  11. Responsible for other reasonable related duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.

WORK SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS:

  • Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone, and other general office equipment
  • Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position
  • Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate degree or higher and at least 3 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry or related field
Salary

Hiring salary range is $44,793 - $51,512.

Lone Star College provides a hiring salary range for all posted full-time non-faculty positions. Where your salary offer would fall in that range is determined by your related experience and education. Should you receive an offer of employment from Lone Star College, the resume submitted in the application process will be utilized to calculate your salary offer.
