Veeco continues to grow and is looking for an experienced Software Engineer to support our Software Engineering team. If you have a passion for programming, particularly with state-of-the-art electro/mechanical systems, this is the technical team you want to be part of!

Responsibilities:



  • Write and support C#/.Net software development by coding, debugging and testing complex application software. C++ development skills a plus.
  • Work with testers, developers, and operations to help reproduce and solve field and internal issues in the application, network, and environment.
  • Act as a cross functional lead to pull together software, hardware, and controls on some projects, act as the software representative for others.
  • Consult with hardware engineers and other engineering staff to evaluate interfaces between hardware and software, and the operational and performance requirements of the overall system.
  • Analyze software requirements to determine the feasibility of a design within time and cost constraints.
  • Provide design/architectural solutions for new features to be implemented.
  • Exercise independent judgment in developing methods, techniques, and evaluation of criterion for obtaining results.
  • Work in an Agile/SCRUM environment using supporting tools.
  • Must be able to travel 20% domestically and internationally. Example: Every two months for oneweek at a time



Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering and 5 years of professional experience or a Master's degree and 3 years of experience designing, testing and optimizing software is required.

Strong C#, .NET and OOD/OOA skills required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:



  • Must have solid understanding of C#/.Net development (C++ a plus).
  • Experience designing user interfaces using WPF (familiarity with WCF a plus).
  • Strong commitment to quality Object Oriented design, and detail oriented.
  • Ability to self-manage and work under minimal supervision.
  • Familiarity with modern software development practices (e.g. version control, issue tracking, code review, agile practices).
  • Experience developing software for Semiconductor manufacturing equipment preferred.


The expected salary range for this position is $122,169- 154,746 plus bonus opportunity. When determining your pay, we will consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors.
