Job Summary

As a Packaging Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing packaging solutions specifically for automotive aftermarket products. Your role will involve ensuring that packaging meets both functional and aesthetic requirements while adhering to industry standards and regulations. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including development, sourcing and manufacturing operations, to create innovative, highly efficient packaging solutions that enhance efficiency, ensure safety and promote company goals.

Primary Duties

  • Design and develop packaging systems that enhance product protection and presentation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate packaging solutions into existing production lines.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and cost analysis for new packaging projects.
  • Utilize SolidWorks for 3D modeling of packaging designs and prototypes.
  • Implement GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles in packaging design to ensure precision.
  • Oversee project scheduling to ensure timely completion of packaging initiatives.
  • Work with robotics and CAM programming to automate packaging processes where applicable.
  • Provide technical support during the assembly of packaging equipment on the production floor.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve existing packaging processes for efficiency and sustainability.

Qualifications

  • Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in industrial equipment operation.
  • Familiarity with assembly line processes and optimization techniques.
  • Experience with project scheduling tools and methodologies.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar CAD software for design purposes.
  • Knowledge of robotics applications in packaging is a plus.
  • Understanding of CAM programming principles is advantageous.
  • Packaging Engineer Certification a plus

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience in packaging engineering or a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
