Job Overview: Lead the operations for Flexan Chicago manufacturing facility, including profit and loss responsibility. Additionally, this role has responsibility for the EHS, maintenance/facilities, and customer service functions of the site. This role shares direct responsibility for the overall success of the business, including the impact on overall corporate goals and objectives. Enhance the operational procedure, systems and principles in the areas of information flow and management, business processes, enhanced management reporting and looks for opportunities to expand systems. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company's policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the plant team to achieve production goals, including hiring, training, assign
schedule and performance management.
- Promote an atmosphere of inclusion, open communication and trust, to foster team development and associate engagement.
- Continuously improve operational processes to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance productivity.
- Assist in the analysis of production and related processes and make recommendations on improvements and organization of process improvement activity through the application of Six-Sigma & Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
- Analyze process workflow, employee and space requirements and equipment layout; implement changes.
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of plant equipment to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
- Responsible for all
operations supervisors, with review/approval responsibility for all operations employees . Communicate job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising and reviewing job contributions.
- Develop and manage the plant's budget, including controlling costs and maximizing resources. Meet or exceed operations labor budget expectations.
- Contribute operations information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; prepare and complete action plans; implement production, productivity, quality and customer-service standards; resolve problems; complete audits; identify trends.
Ensure that all products meet the company's quality standards by implementing and maintaining quality control systems.
- Forecast requirements; prepare an annual budget; schedule expenditures; analyze variances; initiating corrective actions
(working with management's team)
- Develop operations systems by determining product handling and storage requirements; develop, implement, enforce and evaluate policies and procedures; develop processes for receiving product, equipment utilization, inventory management and shipping.
- Manage staff levels, wages, hours, contract labor to revenues.
- Maintain safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following and enforcing standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations
including EHS requirements.
- P
romoting a culture of safety awareness. Run a safe, injury/accident-free workplace .
- Establish proper maintenance and serving as primary liaison with utilities and local government agencies, such as fire, police, health and safety agencies.
- Lead and manage capital projects within the plant, including equipment upgrades and facility expansions.
- Understand customer needs and expectations, with the goal of increasing customer satisfaction
. Communicate customer issues with operations team and devise ways of improving the customer experience, including resolving problems and complaints.
- Work closely with management team to set and/or implement policies, procedures and systems and to follow through with implementation.
- Communicate all operating policies and/or issues at department meetings.
- Communicate with legal counsel and safety department to ensure all processes remain compliant with OSHA and other governmental regulations.
- Ensure
plant compliance with all relevant local, state, and federal regulations.
- Making capital spending (Capex) proposals and recommendations, including technology capability improvement considerations, specifically around automated manufacturing
- By Lean Six Sigma / DMAIC Identify and/or modify existing processes or systems which restrict capacities or result in the inability to reach weekly sales and overall corporate goals always following the quality standards and customer approval processes.
- Forecast capital CAPEX for facility and equipment improvements, replacement and/or modification.
- Partner with all factories within Flexan to improve the profitability of the corporation and look for ways to improve Gross Margin.
- Ensure regulatory compliance and makes recommendations for the improvement of policies and procedures.
- Lead and drive programs to institutionalize strong corporate culture and accomplish ad hoc tasks

Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree required, in a technical field preferred
- 10+ years of management/manufacturing experience and strong financial acumen
- Proven management capabilities: prior leadership experience in a manufacturing environment (experience with LEAN manufacturing practices desired); able to be firm and hold people accountable; excellent clear communication skills; able to motivate supervisors
and peers
- Strategic thinking: ability to establish priorities, processes, and standards. A decisive individual who possesses a "big picture" perspective
- Problem Solving: proactive in identifying potential problems or opportunities to increase productivity and quality, decrease waste and improve morale
- Works well under pressure and operates effectively in a fast-paced team environment
- Demonstrates excellent communication skills and can bring together different personalities around common goals; excellent at listening, identifying root causes of concerns and mediating differences
- Proven ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple tasks; must be highly self-motivated and able to operate autonomously or on a team in a dynamic environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
