Scope of Work:

Manages the organization, productivity and assets of the Service Department to obtain maximum efficiency and profitability. Supervises Forman, Leader man, Administrative Assistant, and Shop Clerk.

Minimum Qualifications:



  • Must have 3 year(s) previous supervisory experience of service personnel
  • High School Diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent
  • Prefer applied certification(s) for the above job description
  • Trade school and/or some college preferred


Requirements: Skills, Knowledge and Abilities (SKA's)



  • Must have a working knowledge of the above titled position and how it relates to the overall business and its' objectives
  • Must meet goals and objectives set forth by the company
  • Must conform to policies and procedures set forth by the company
  • Must have current driver's license and acceptable driving record per WPI insurance carrier standards
  • Must be able to pass and maintain alcohol and drug testing requirements as required by the Department of Transportation
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Must be able bend and twist several times a day
  • Must be computer literate, a Windows based environment preferred. (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Must be dependable and able to work independently
  • Must have excellent communication skills
  • Must maintain good client relations
  • Must maintain a professional appearance
  • Must promote and maintain a clean, neat and safe work environment
  • Must have the ability to work flexible hours, days, and weekends (as necessary)
  • Must have the ability to travel and stay overnight (as necessary)
  • Must have the ability to supervise and motivate others
  • Must have the ability to effectively evaluate others
  • Must protect the company assets and interest


Primary Job Responsibilities:



  • Adheres to and utilizes the established Service Department management operating system for assigned work.
  • Measures productivity
  • Increases output, evaluates performance and tracking mileage
  • Develops and maintains a training program for all Service Department employees
  • Established departmental goals relevant to each shop activity or department and monitors performance on a monthly basis
  • Meets with District Manager and Parts Manager at least monthly for reviewing activities, financial reports, problems, progress and mutual needs
  • Monitors the capabilities of the entire department regarding customer needs and service requirements for equipment being utilized in the territory
  • Maintains close contact and good relations with customers, may include onsite visits
  • Administers safety program in accordance with existing company, state and federal guidelines. Conducts a monthly safety meeting and completes required reports
  • Prepares and adheres to the company Salary Plan to provide a timely Performance Reviews and equitable increase program
  • Performs other duties or functions as requested by Management

  • Promote good welfare among the company and its' divisions
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Working Conditions:



  • Typical hours of work Monday through Friday; 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Weekend hours as necessary
  • Indoor and/or outdoor work required
