About the role

We are seeking a Vice President of Product Management, API Offerings to lead the strategy, development, and expansion of our API products that power shipping, returns, and fulfillment for large merchants, technology platforms, and ecommerce platforms. This leader will be responsible for defining and scaling our API solutions to drive adoption among enterprise customers, ensuring seamless global coverage, and expanding our reach in international markets.

This position is hybrid (3 days per week in office) and is located in Austin, TX.

What will you be doing?


Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and own the API product strategy for large merchants, technology platforms, and ecommerce platforms, ensuring Auctane's APIs become the preferred choice for label printing, returns, and fulfillment worldwide.
  • Drive international expansion by ensuring API offerings support global carriers, cross-border logistics, and localized compliance needs.
  • Partner with the Chief Product Officer and executive leadership to align API strategy with Auctane's broader business objectives, including increasing shipping volume, expanding into new regions, and driving platform integrations.


Product Development & Innovation

  • Lead a team of product managers and technical product owners to build world-class shipping APIs that provide seamless label generation, tracking, and post-sale automation.
  • Work closely with engineering, design, and UX teams to deliver high-quality, scalable, and secure API solutions that meet the demands of enterprise customers.
  • Champion a developer-first approach, ensuring API documentation, SDKs, and sandbox environments drive adoption and ease of integration.
  • Identify and drive enhancements to support multi-carrier integrations, intelligent rate shopping, and automation capabilities for large merchants.


Customer & Market Focus

  • Engage with enterprise merchants, marketplaces, and ecommerce platforms to understand their shipping challenges and ensure our APIs provide a best-in-class experience.
  • Build deep relationships with strategic partners, including global carriers, warehouse management systems (WMS), and order management systems (OMS).
  • Analyze market trends, competitive offerings, and emerging technologies (AI-driven logistics, sustainability, etc.) to ensure Auctane remains at the forefront of API-based shipping solutions.


Execution & Metrics

  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure API adoption, developer satisfaction, shipping volume growth, and international expansion success.
  • Work with go-to-market teams to drive API awareness, developer engagement, and revenue growth through partnerships and integrations.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and security best practices are met, especially in international markets.


What are we looking for?



  • 15+ years of product management experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role focused on APIs for enterprise customers, logistics, or ecommerce platforms.
  • Deep understanding of RESTful APIs, developer ecosystems, and API-first business models.
  • Proven experience launching and scaling international API products, including multi-carrier and cross-border logistics solutions.
  • Strong technical acumen, with the ability to collaborate closely with engineering teams on API architecture and scalability.
  • Experience working with enterprise customers, marketplaces, and ecommerce platforms, understanding their shipping, fulfillment, and compliance needs.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with a track record of driving high-impact API product strategies.
