We are currently seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our team, playing a crucial role in managing daily patient flow. Position: Medical Assistant Location: 105 Keene Street, Columbia, MO Schedule: PRN, coverage for the Thursday clinic from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM is essential. Responsibilities
Under direct supervision, the Medical Assistant supports physicians and clinicians with patient care duties in a clinical environment, promoting efficient patient flow and care. Key responsibilities include:
- Escorting patients to and from exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment rooms
- Recording patient data prior to each physician visit, including vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes
- Obtaining necessary patient records as required by physicians
- Preparing and stocking exam/treatment rooms and managing supplies
- Assisting physicians with exams and procedures
- Maintaining exam/treatment room disinfection protocols
- Responding to patient calls and alerting nurses or physicians of abnormal vitals or important patient information
- Collecting inbound meaningful use data, such as flu documentation and initial height and weight
- Printing medication lists for patient review
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent Certificate of graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred Minimum of three years of experience as a Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant Physical Demands: The role requires a full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. It involves standing and walking for extended periods and occasionally lifting items up to 40 lbs. Corrected vision and hearing to normal range are required, as well as the ability to lift and assist patients as needed.
