Position Summary: Responsible for assisting the Director of Workforce Development in the adolescent employment programs which include the Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) and Work, Learn & Grow. To also assist with data entry, enrollment of youth, payroll, and internal audits.

Essential Duties: Under the direct supervision of the Director of Workforce Development, the Administrative Assistant's responsibilities include the following:



  • Maintain knowledge of all DYCD and Children's Aid trainings and changes.
  • Provide support throughout the different phases of the summer including but not limited to: enrollment, job placement, payroll, and data management
  • Provide great customer service to worksite supervisors, parent and participant inquiries to effectively resolve concerns regarding payroll, placement, and/or other program policies and procedures.
  • Support internal audits for all employment program files and documents in preparation for yearly City and State audits.
  • Represent and promote employment programs at school fairs to increase applicant numbers.
  • To develop strategies that connect jobs & careers. As well as review participant resumes and provide feedback.
  • Assist in overseeing participant worksite information as it relates to Divisional work readiness programs including SYEP and workforce-related databases.
  • Monitor time and attendance for participants and prepare payroll promptly.
  • Maintain youth internship program attendance and generate attendance analysis reports.
  • Attend database management training as required by funders and/or agencies.


Minimum Qualifications:



  • HS/ GED required


Key Competencies



  • At least 20 college credits preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience in the youth development field and/or work readiness.
  • Knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office (word, excel, etc.), excellent verbal and written communication, and confidence to work independently
