Position Purpose:

The purpose of this position is to lead the global content programming strategy for Digital Health Transformation and related topics Responsibilities include design, development, and delivery of programming for both in-person events hosted by HIMSS, programming delivered through partnership channels, and digital offerings. The Sr. Lead, Content & Programming is responsible for staying abreast of new and emerging trends and issues across the global health landscape related to Digital Health and related topics and leveraging that knowledge to curate compelling industry leading programs that offer outstanding value to HIMSS members and help strengthen HIMSS' competitive advantage as global health experts and thought leaders. This role is responsible for cultivating relationships with industry speakers, internal thought leaders and subject matter experts, as well as sponsors. The Sr. Lead collaborates with and contributes to a team of creative and innovative content and programming professionals responsible for content design and development, coordination of content promotion, speaker management, program quality assurance, and audience development efforts.

Essential Functions

    Leads the strategy and design of event programming to advance Digital Health Transformation and related topics in digital healthcare that include compelling and relevant content and highly sought after sponsor packages that support revenue goals and strategic objectives of the business.
  • Develops relationships and manages a growing community of subject matter experts, industry thought leaders, and up-and-coming changemakers to develop event programs and content based on HIMSS content strategy that advances the HIMSS vision and mission.
  • Develops and manages a continual multi-year content and programming roadmap, engages stakeholders to ensure input and alignment, and works with the programming and operations teams to design and implement the roadmap components.
  • Leads collaboration with the Sales team to create assets that support sponsorship sales.
  • Leads collaboration with the Marketing team to develop promotion strategies, processes, and assets to drive high engagement in various HIMSS programming and event formats.
  • Leads new content and programming initiatives as directed by senior leadership including, but not limited to conferences, events, and the introduction of new topics.
  • Build mechanisms and programs that improve content collaboration and streamline operations across global events.
  • Cultivates relationships with HIMSS members to understand needs and areas of interest that the content and programming strategy can address.


What you will need to be successful:

  • Bachelor's degree or additional equivalent experience
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of related work experience in program and content development for events and conferences. Prior experience with content development related to preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to design event programs that increase audience engagement
  • Customer focused with assertive, self-confident personality
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and outstanding interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated abilities in various technologies like the Microsoft Office Suite of programs including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships
  • Ability to travel up to 20%
