Position:

The Quality Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, implementing, and directing all aspects of the Quality department. This role is responsible for implementing and utilizing the AS 9100, ISO 9001-2000, NADCAP, and compliant Quality Management Systems to ensure that our products are manufactured to meet the dimensions, specifications, quality, and any other features or requirements specified by our customers. The role is responsible for driving the continuous improvement of customer feedback, management, manufacturing, and supply chain processes.

The Quality Engineer will:

Active participation in company New Product Introduction (NPI) process - Act as the Quality department's focal in establishing and releasing new products to the manufacturing floor by creating Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA), Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA) and Control Plans.

The Quality Engineer will work with Manufacturing and Engineering personnel to ensure smooth transition of new product from the planning stage through delivery of product to the customer.

Support AS9100 requirements. Participate as the Quality focal for internal/external corrective actions resulting from non-conformances.

Provide guidance to teams in performing immediate action activities, drilling down to a root cause statement, and developing a robust action plan to implement effective and sustainable solutions.

Perform process audits to assess compliance, capability and effectiveness of various manufacturing processes and specifications.

Help to develop and maintain metrics that show the current condition of the processes and help to improve the manufacturing process.

Support the Quality team by providing clear, accurate information.

Create Standard Work Instructions (SWI's) as needed to allow for easier cross training of personnel.

Research and analyze specifications to make sound decisions based on customer/industry documentation.

Review First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) to ensure completeness and compliance to the AS9102 standard.

Participate in continuous improvement activities pertaining to customer feedback, management, manufacturing, and supply chain processes

Preferred Qualifications:

Excellent communication skills.

Ability to work under pressure while maintaining perspective to make decisions.

Strong and collaborative relationships with upper management, peers, and production team members.

Able to utilize data driven problem solving, searching for root cause and addressing issues.

Advanced interpersonal skills and ability to address conflict directly, working to resolve differences proactively.

Knowledge of advanced manufacturing, quality assurance, quality control, and related measurement methods and techniques.

Ability to specify, negotiate and document agreements related to supplier quality requirements.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing Engineering or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Experience:

  • Prior work experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong preference for prior experience in aerospace interiors
  • APQP
  • RCCA

Additional Eligibility Qualifications, Certificates, Licenses, or Registrations:

  • ASQ-QE or QM Certification is preferred.
  • Lean certification preferred (Green or Black belt).

Pay

SEKISUI Aerospace is required by Washington law to include the salary range for this role when hiring a Washington resident. Pay ranges may be higher or lower for non-resident WA employees, based on the market data for their region, allowing us to pay employees competitively in different geographic markets.
