Utility Services Technician

The role:

The utilities services technician manages the utilities systems which ensure that quality and production can be maintained. This includes purified water generation and distribution, steam boilers, compressed air, wastewater treatment, raw material unloading, climate control/air handling, and dust collection. Reporting to the Utility Services Manager you will schedule and perform preventative maintenance tasks, ensure proper documentation, respond promptly to alarms, and participate in the creation and revision of relevant standard operating procedures and work instructions. 12 hour shift 7pm -7am.

What you will do:



  • Respond to and resolve alarms relating to utilities systems using technical knowledge. Ensure that all actions performed are properly documented.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on utilities systems. Ensure that these tasks are performed according to the relevant standard operating procedure and appropriately documented.
  • Perform daily checks, data logging, and system monitoring for utilities systems.
  • Manage records and historical data.
  • Evaluate concerns with utilities and communicate with leadership as necessary while providing feedback about proposed resolutions and ideas for improvement. Help create and execute change control documents.
  • Clean and maintain GMP in utilities areas.
  • Support the creation and revision of standard operating procedures for tasks involving critical utilities.



What you will need:



  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent certificate.
  • Technical training in electrical, mechanical, and general construction trades.
  • Boiler certificate a plus.
  • Experience with quality-controlled systems and computer-based process monitoring systems.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with purified water generation.
  • Good communication skills.
