Job Description

Torch Technologies is seeking a Shock and Vibration/Aerospace Engineer to be the LRSO team's knowledgeable person with experience in identifying, analyzing, and evaluating aerodynamic structural characteristics. performance of armament systems resulting from transportation, handling, storage, and operational use. The selected candidate shall have experience with wind tunnel testing, evaluation, computational fluid dynamics, and M&S as it relates to aerodynamics, weapon systems, and associated structures.

This position requires a highly motivated individual with vast experience. Essential duties include:

  Analyzeweapon specifications performance characteristics.

  
  
• 
  

  Evaluatenew technologies for application in improving design of aerospace systems.

  
  
• 
  

  Plan, coordinate, direct, and evaluatetesting of aerospace systems.

  
  
• 
  

  Performrisk assessment of those systems and generates risk mitigation plans and strategies

  
  
• 
  

  Reviewtest plans and test reports of shock and vibration testing.

  
  
• 
  

  Validate data analysis provided by the prime contractor and perform their own analysis to validate the information provided.

  
  
• 
  

  Review proposed design alterations/variations and provides a risk assessment of the proposed changes.

  
  

Job Requirements

• Must have Bachelor's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical engineering,
• Must have at least 8 years in related aerospace engineering experience.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Must have an active SECRET DoD security clearance ORbe able to obtain one at time of hire.
• Must be eligible for a Top Secret clearance.
• Should be familiar with DoD Acquisition processes or project management professional principles.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical engineering is preferred,
• 10 years in related aerospace engineering experience is also preferred.
