Overview

SRI's Center for Advanced Imaging is searching for a Processing Engineer to join their team. The candidate will help position SRI for continued growth in silicon CMOS, CCD, III-V and ROIC-based imaging technologies and products deployed in the commercial, government and military markets. The Processing Engineer will work across SRI and with external foundries to develop advanced III-V processing technology. The ideal candidate should understand cleanroom operation, have hands-on experience of III-V semiconductor processing and wafer fabrication, be able to develop new processes for new material and devices, communicate well and work efficiently in a team environment.

This position will be on-site in the Princeton, NJ office



Responsibilities

    Setting up processing equipment
  • Maintaining cleanrooms
  • Developing, maintaining, and improving III-V semiconductor process for photonics devices, supporting device design group.
  • Tools include photolithography, wet etch, dry etch (RIE/ICP), dielectric film deposition (PECVD), metal deposition, chip hybridization, etc.


Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Masters in chemistry, physics, applied physics, material science, electrical engineering, or related fields.
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in III-V semiconductor processing, product development or production engineering.
  • Due to government contract requirements, candidates must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Familiar with cleanroom operation and maintenance
  • Familiar with or can be trained with new processing equipment set up and maintenance
  • Familiar with semiconductor inspection and device characterization techniques
  • Able to develop a new process, debug and bring it to maturity
  • Basic knowledge of semiconductor device physics
  • Good communication skills
  • Able to work in a cross disciplinary team

The salary range is: $77,220-$102,312. Salary ranges will vary and are based on several factors, including geographic location, market competitiveness and equity amongst internal employees in similar roles. Positions may also qualify for SRI's Pay for Outstanding Performance program or the annual Performance Based Compensation program.
