Senior Engineer - Design, Failure and Mission Assurance
Contingent upon prime contractor approval
Purpose:
- Valkyrie Enterprises has an immediate need for a Senior Engineer - Design, Failure and Mission Assurance in Huntsville, AL. In this role you will be part of MDA's Engineering Design group and will support Engineering Technical Reviews, Failure Review Boards, Engineering Integration, and Mission Assurance Provisions Requirements Applicability Matrices (MAP RAMs).
Job Description:
- Enable MDA Programs in preparation of Mission Assurance Provisions Requirements Applicability Matrices (MAP RAMs) and in setting thresholds for each requirement in the MAP
- Support the preparation and review of Technical Review Plans for the conduct of Engineering Technical Reviews (SRR, PDRs, CDRs and Agile Reviews)
- Provide support during the planning and conduct of Engineering Technical Reviews
- Support System- and Element- Level failure reviews
.Qualifications
- Must have a Master's Degree in STEM Field with 12+ years of experience in missile defense-related or other complex, large DoD program/project
- Must be able to work independently and/or leads teams to analyze and resolve problems.
- Must have the capability to develop and clearly present reports and presentations to senior management-level personnel.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft tools , e.g. PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Word.
- Must be a pro-active, self-starter.
- Must have strong understanding of engineering design principles
- Must have experience in the flow-down of System-level requirements which influence Element-level designs.
- Must have experience conducting and managing failure reviews
- Must have exceptional communications and organization skills.
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of agile engineering design processes, preferred.
- Knowledge of digital engineering principals, preferred.
- Knowledge of and experience with the Missile Defense System (elements, products, increments and capabilities), preferred.
- Knowledge of the MDA Mission Assurance Provisions, preferred.
- Strong communication skills to include oral, written and briefing, preferred.
- Works independently, applying engineering rigor to analyze and resolve problems within a fast-paced, dynamic environment, preferred.
- Ability to present complex information and concepts to Leaders at various levels, preferred.
Security Requirements:
- Must have an Active DoD Secret Clearance and the ability to maintain the clearance.
Travel Requirements:
- Up to 10%
- If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to work in an office environment
- Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods, moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another, communicating with others to exchange information, repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers, light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds
