MunichRe America Services (MRAS) IT Business Solutions delivers business value through the management of IT products including implementation of change projects in a disciplined, business focused, engaged and methodical way to Munich Re Global Specialty Insurance (GSI) organization.

The Head of Sub section - Oracle Financial ERP Delivery Lead will be responsible for driving the transformation initiatives and implementing systems and processes for GSI finance transformation landscape, ensuring efficient planning, execution and management of the overall technical capabilities aligned with the business vision of the future state GSI Finance system operations and KPIs. This role will be setting up this practice for efficiently managing the GSI Finance system being implemented and day to day maintenance of the Applications and platforms. The role will report to the Head of Application Services of MRAS and be a key technology support partner to the Business Application owners. This role is responsible for providing governance oversight and execution accountability of Application deliver and maintenance Practice to ensure the policies and procedures are adhered in Project and Run teams to deliver cost effective and high quality products developed within GSI. Resource will be ensuring alignment with implementation of standardized operations measures across GSI Product development and delivery that follows our Munich Re standard solutions, aligned to risk and compliance requirements, to cover the financial and insurance operational capabilities of GSI.

This role will be part of a cross-functional agile team that is geographically distributed to deliver high-quality digital solutions across a broad range of innovation initiatives, while championing high quality and consistent delivery practices. The Oracle ERP Cloud Financial Lead will guide clients through project implementations of Oracle Cloud ERP Financials Applications, collaborate with teams, analyze systems, and support testing and go-live phases. Responsibilities include refining requirements, developing solutions, and leading post-production support.

This position focuses on guiding and assisting clients through all phases of project implementations of Oracle Cloud ERP Financials Applications

  • Lead the end-to-end implementation of ERP systems, including planning, budgeting, and core financial modules. Oversee the configuration, customization, and integration of ERP modules specifically tailored to business requirements and best practices.
  • Implement data integration strategies to streamline data flows across finance systems and ensure seamless data exchange.
  • Ensure alignment with industry standards, compliance, and regulatory requirements throughout the implementation process.
  • Develop change management strategies and communication plans to facilitate user adoption of ERP systems.
  • Coordinate training sessions, workshops, and documentation to educate end-users on system functionalities, best practices, and troubleshooting
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing an IT strategy that delivers both near term results, while simultaneously building for the future.
  • Lead, consult on and support process analysis, design/re-design of system enabled business processes and workflows, system integration, requirements gathering and process improvements
  • Oversee that product functionality and system performance meets business requirements without losing technical and architectural integrity
  • Strong understanding of financial systems, data structures, and financial/regulatory reporting requirements
  • Experience with Oracle ERP systems and financial reporting software
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to financial data management

Key Accountabilities

  • Align with Business Finance Operations : Partner and work closely with Head of Quality Engineering Practice to ensure the policies and procedures of the QE practice defined by the QE practice is adhered in Project teams
  • Collaborate with Entity Level Leads : To ensure delivery is planned and executed in highest quality.
  • Establish and Execute on delivery model: Develop and implement processes for a Testing Factory model, ensuring efficient resource allocation based on demand and capacity planning.
  • Define and Implement Test Strategies: Create and enforce comprehensive test strategies that cover planning, design, execution, and reporting for all projects.
  • Resource Management: Coordinate with resource vendors to ensure timely availability and onboarding of QA resources. Work with entity QA leads to manage resources effectively.
  • Demand and Capacity Planning: Implement processes to accurately estimate work, plan resource allocation, and manage capacity to meet project demands.
  • Test Planning and Execution: Oversee the development of test strategies/plans, design of test cases, and execution of testing activities to ensure thorough coverage and high-quality outputs.
  • Agile Adoption : Adhere to agile principles and testing guidelines in project execution.
  • Quality Metrics and Reporting: Define and track quality metrics to assess the effectiveness of testing processes. Provide regular status reports and insights on testing progress and quality outcomes to stakeholders.
  • Adhere to Compliance : Work with QE practice team to identify compliance and regulatory requirements and ensure project testing strategies will adhere to them.
  • Risk and Issue Management: Establish a process for identifying, escalating, and resolving risks and issues related to QA delivery. Ensure timely communication and resolution of problems.
  • Drive Timely Delivery: Ensure the timely delivery of QA tasks in support of application rollouts, adhering to project timelines and SLAs.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with Project Managers, Program Managers, and Delivery Managers to align QA activities with overall project goals and timelines.
  • Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the QA team by implementing best practices and seeking opportunities to enhance processes by working with the QE practice team
  • Mentor and Lead QA Team: Provide leadership and mentorship to QA team members, promoting professional growth and technical excellence.
  • Test Automation and Performance Testing: Collaborate with Test Automation and Performance Testing leads. Engage Automation and Performance Testing services as needed. Integrate automated and performance testing into the QA process.
  • Support UAT: Establish UAT testing strategy customized for projects and implement UAT test management guidelines as per the QE practice guidelines. Coordinate and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) efforts, ensuring a standardized approach and successful execution.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with all stakeholders regarding testing activities, progress, and outcomes.
  • Manage Financials: Oversee the financial management of the QA delivery team, ensuring budget adherence and cost-effectiveness.
  • Supplier Engagements: Manage relationships with internal and external suppliers to ensure quality and timely delivery of testing services.
  • Advocate for QA Team: Act as an advocate for the QA delivery team(or leads?), addressing performance issues, providing feedback, and ensuring a positive work environment.

Project Responsibilities:

  • Using in-depth knowledge of the Oracle Financials Applications, as well as industry best practice expertise, consults with clients to provide cost effective solutions to client business scenarios.
  • Works collaboratively with project team and client employees to develop, test, and implement Oracle Clouds solutions.
  • Refine customer requirements in detail, document and present to the client for approval
  • Identifies and applies creative and innovative approaches to resolving product implementation and integration obstacles and problems.
  • Analyze current systems and data to identify new requirements, recognizing the need for systems enhancements or modifications if necessary
  • Develop unit test scripts and coordinate with the client to perform the User Acceptance Testing of the system enhancements or custom solutions
  • Work with Oracle to resolve service requests
  • Lead and direct the following phases of system life cycle:
  • Gather business requirements through business process workshops,
  • Analysis, design, configure and development solutions for Oracle Financial applications,
  • Conference Room Pilots (CRP) and User Acceptance Testing,
  • Go-Live preparation and cut-over support,
  • Post-production support
  • Requirements gathering: Collect and document business requirements and functional specifications
  • System configuration: Configure Oracle ERP modules based on client needs
  • Process analysis: Identify areas for improvement and recommend solutions
  • Customization: Design and develop customizations, reports, and integrations
  • Testing: Conduct system testing and user acceptance testing
  • Training: Provide training to business users on Oracle ERP modules
  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and resolve issues with Oracle ERP modules
  • Documentation: Create and review test scenarios, scripts, and test plans
  • Communication: Communicate with Oracle to resolve customer support issues

Considerations:

  • Job will entail 50% travel

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a relevant field
  • Experience working with Oracle Financials applications
  • Strong financial acumen and understanding of general ledger accounting
  • Proficiency in relevant financial software, including Excel, Office Suite, and Oracle

Experience Requirements:

  • Financial system IMPLEMENTATION EXPERIENCE and EDUCATION
  • 3+ years Oracle Cloud Financial (SaaS / Fusion) experience
  • 3-5 years of business analyst experience
  • 3+ years of Oracle (EBS,JDE) Application experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in business or related field
  • Good knowledge of IT SDLC and application development and management
  • Effectively communicates, both verbally and in writing to various audiences
  • Strong communication and influencing skills when working with a range of internal stakeholders
  • Collaborative working style, creating a culture of accountability and sharing
  • Ability to function as a member of a technology team, willing to contribute in any capacity required to achieve success
  • Adaptive interpersonal, communicative and consultative skills to function across all levels, communicating with peers, clients, and IT management.
