Maintenance Clerk

Classification: Hourly Non-Union

Pay Range: Hourly

Reports to: Maintenance Manager

Date: 12/01/2022

JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective

This position is responsible for coordinating the maintenance department inventory controls, and documentation. Working closely with the Maintenance Planner on pricing, project work and coordination of outside vendors to ensure the company is in compliance with regulatory and customer requirements.

Department Duties



  • Marks and stores parts in stockroom according to prearranged system.
  • Reads catalog, or computer for replacement part stock number and price.
  • Compares inventories to office records or computes figures from records such as work orders, purchase requests, or purchase invoices to obtain current inventory.
  • Counts material, equipment, merchandise, or supplies in stock and posts totals to inventory records.
  • Verifies clerical computations against physical count of stock and adjusts errors in computation or count, or investigates and reports reasons for discrepancies.
  • Compiles information on receipt or disbursement of material, equipment, merchandise, or supplies, and computes inventory balance, price, and cost.
  • Prepares reports such as inventory balance, price lists, and shortages.
  • Must follow all company and regulatory policies/guidelines relating to food safety and quality.
  • Works with outside vendors on parts and material requests, receiving and inspecting materials, and scheduling emergency and service repairs.

Work Environment




  • While performing the duties of this job, the associate is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
  • The associate is exposed daily to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; cold, heat, and risk of electrical shock.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.


Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.



  • Able to work in a fast paced production plant environment.
  • Required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk and hear.
  • Frequently required to stand; walk and sit.
  • Occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.


Education and Experience

Required:



  • One year certificate from college or technical school (or)
  • 3 to 6 months experience in an administrative assistant position


Preferred:



  • Experience in maintenance or warehouse inventory setting a plus.


Additional Eligibility Qualifications



  • Ability to read and interpret documents
  • Basic math skills and the ability to apply concepts of algebra and geometry
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work



  • Hourly non-union, Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Overtime as needed and approved


Travel



  • As needed for training or meetings
