And everyone, in their own unique way, plays an important part, every day. We are seeking a health care attorney to join our growing, collaborative and fast-paced Legal Department. We are looking for a lawyer with significant experience working for health care clients on legal issues related to patient care, medical staff, peer review, PCA programs, provider scope of practice, substance use disorder and controlled substance regulation, and federal and state health care regulatory and enforcement matters (including AGO, CMS, DPH, DMH, BORN, BORM, NPDB and DEA). The candidate should possess the ability to deliver proactive, high quality client service working with clinical and operational leadership and front line staff, and to oversee enforcement and regulatory agency and board of registration matters. The candidate should have a minimum of five to seven years of patient care/medical staff experience and a license to practice law in Massachusetts. Knowledge of federal and state health care laws (including privacy, peer review, Stark, fraud and abuse and regulatory compliance matters) is strongly preferred. Major Responsibilities: 1. Provides legal services as a member of the Office of General Counsel. Standard Staffing Level Responsibilities: 1. Position Qualifications: License/Certification/Education: Experience/Skills: Preferred: Unless certification, licensure or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be substituted for the above requirements. Department-specific competencies, including age-specific competencies, and their measurements will be developed and maintained in the individual departments. The competencies will be maintained and attached to the departmental job description. Responsible managers will review competencies with position incumbents. III. Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions: Work is considered sedentary. Position requires work indoors in a normal office environment. Patient Care and Medical Staff Focus.
