The Fabrication & Coating Leadership Development Program (FLDP) is a rigorous, two-year rotational program designed to prepare high-potential professionals for advancement within CFCC. Participants will complete four assignments (typically six-months each, but the length may vary) across various functional areas of the fabrication and coating industry, gaining hands-on experience in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Potential assignment types include:
  • Production Floor: Develop hands-on skills to establish a foundation for future growth in the business. This includes supervising team members, managing and optimizing workflow, and ensuring quality and safety.
  • Detailing: Interpret contract drawings, develop models, and create detailed fabrication drawings using Tekla Structures to support the success of the production floor.
  • Estimating: Apply the skills gained in detailing and production floor assignments to estimate costs and competitively win projects.
  • Project Management: Oversee all aspects of a project from the time of award to final delivery, ensuring project success.


Program Objectives
  • Develop Cross-Functional Expertise: Equip participants with in-depth knowledge and practical experience across production, detailing, estimating, and project management functions.
  • Enhance Technical Proficiency: Strengthen understanding of fabrication and coating processes, industry standards, and cutting-edge technologies.
  • Foster Leadership Skills: Cultivate decision-making, communication, and team leadership abilities to prepare participants for advanced managerial roles.
  • Promote Strategic Thinking: Encourage innovative problem-solving and long-term planning to address operational challenges and drive business growth.

Qualifications/Requirements
  • Bachelor's in engineering, construction management or a related field.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to work with hands and learn necessary skills from the ground up.
  • Ability to work effectively on a team.
  • Adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and CADD (Computer Aided Drafting and Design).
