Job Description

MURR is seeking a results-driven Human Resources Specialist with strong problem-solving and relationship management skills. This position will support MURR's strategic initiatives, including our primary mission of fostering a culture of exceptional talent. This role will work closely with employees, leaders, and other stakeholders to ensure MURR has the talent infrastructure to continue growing and meeting the ever-expanding obligations of our customers and research partners. This position will report to the Senior Director of Central Services.
The University of Missouri Human Resources team provides leadership in planning, integrating, and implementing human resource services and programs for all leaders and employees. Collaborating with campus colleagues, HR serves as a strategic and trusted advisor, supporting a dynamic workforce, while pursuing continuous improvement through knowledge, collaboration, and leadership.

Key Responsibilities
Recruiting & Onboarding

  • Serve as a liaison between the Office of Human Resources Recruitment and MURR hiring managers.
  • Lead the sourcing, screening, interviewing, selection, and negotiation processes for entry to mid-level positions
  • Lead and ensure accountability for a smooth onboarding experience.
  • Support MURR training with bi-weekly onboarding weeks, including hosting trainings and escorting new hires.
  • Partner with the Talent Acquisition Center of Expertise (COE) as needed.

HR Programs & Policy Implementation

  • Identify and implement workflow changes and process improvements.
  • Monitor and report on HR metrics.

Employee Relations

  • Monitor employee engagement to ensure a high level of satisfaction.
  • Provide first-line conflict resolution.
  • Counsel leaders and employees on job performance, compliance, and university policies.

Compensation and Classification

  • Develop position descriptions.
  • Evaluate requests for pay changes due to reclassifications or other factors with MURR Human Resources Partners.
  • Partner with the Compensation and Classification COE as needed.

As with all positions, other duties and responsibilities may be assigned to support the mission and purpose of the University of Missouri System and MURR.

Shift

Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrated competence in customer service, critical thinking, communication, relationship management, organization, confidentiality, integrity, and a commitment to promoting a positive workforce.

Previous experience with recruitment processes.

PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SCP certification.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $55,000 - $70,000 per year
Grade: GGS-010
