Responsibilities

At Newport Healthcare, we're transforming lives through integrative and holistic mental health treatment, and we're seeking a passionate and dynamic Primary Therapist to join our vibrant team!

Here's a quick snapshot of the role:

As a Primary Therapist, you'll be the heartbeat of our clinical team! You'll have the incredible opportunity to provide impactful, in-depth therapy that truly changes lives. Key responsbilities include:

Therapy Leader: Facilitate engaging individual, family, and group therapy sessions using Newport Healthcare's distinctive clinical model and the principles of Attachment-Based Family Therapy. In this position, you'll focus on therapy, not case management!

Communication Champion: Be the go-to clinical contact for families, keeping the lines of communication open and proactive.

Family Orientation Guide: Facilitate Family Orientations, Welcome Presentations, and Family Support Groups that leave everyone feeling supported and empowered.

Assessment Specialist: Conduct risk assessments and create safety plans upon admission, followed by comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and treatment plans-on time, every time!

Team Collaborator: Work closely with your treatment team to coordinate goals and services, with regular 30-day treatment plan reviews to keep everyone on track.

Documentation Pro: Keep our records sparkling clean and up-to-date, including assessments, progress notes, and discharge summaries-timely and according to our high standards.

Crisis Management Expert: Conduct risk or crisis assessments and provide intervention and management when needed.

Meeting Enthusiast: Attend weekly treatment team meetings, staff gatherings, and clinical supervision to keep the team spirit high.

Ambassador of Awesomeness: Represent Newport Healthcare at meetings, trainings, and conferences, spreading the word about our amazing work!


Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or related field or enrollment in Doctorate program from an accredited or state approved graduate school required.
  • Board registered AMFT, ACSW, APCC or Psychologic Associate in the state in which services are provided required. Licensed highly preferred.
  • Experience with individual, family, and/or group therapy with young adults/adolescents.
  • Experience with mental health, substance abuse, eating disorders or trauma-informed treatment preferred.

Free Clinical Supervision Provided!

Free training/certification offered in EMDR, ABFT, CBT & DBT!

Compensation for this role ranges from $42.48/hr - $58.41/hr. ($88,358- $121,492) depending on education and experience.
