Overview

Summary:

The Cyber Security System Administrator is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. Repairs and recovers from hardware of software failures.

Work in any of the following: DLA Headquarters Complex, Fort Belvoir, VA (HQC), Defense Supply Center Richmond, VA (DSCR), Defense Supply Center Columbus, OH (DSCC), DLA Distribution Center Susquehanna, PA (DDSP), New Cumberland, Pennsylvania.


Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Set up and maintain systems or specific components of a system.
  • Update hardware and software.
  • Establish and manage user accounts.
  • Oversee or conduct backup and recovery tasks.
  • Implement operational and technical security controls.
  • Adhere to organizational security policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate and communicate with impacted constituencies.

Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of cybersecurity and privacy principles.
  • Knowledge of computer networking concepts and protocols, and network security methodologies.
  • Knowledge of laws, regulations, policies, and ethics as they relate to cybersecurity and privacy.
  • Knowledge of risk management processes (e.g., methods for assessing and mitigating risk).
  • Knowledge of cyber threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Knowledge of specific operational impacts of cybersecurity lapses.
  • Knowledge of organizational information technology (IT) user security policies (e.g., account creation, password rules, access control).
  • Knowledge of systems administration concepts.
  • Knowledge of virtualization technologies and virtual machine development and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of system administration, network, and operating system hardening techniques.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related discipline.
  • Minimum of two years of related work experience.
  • Favorably adjudicated Tier 1 (T1) investigation or equivalent
  • Must be a US citizen.
  • Certifications: 8140 Certification, CompTIAA+, Network+, Security + or Certified Network Defender (CND) certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • IAT Level I certification.
