SYSTEM TESTER

Job Description:

This position is responsible for test and troubleshooting of new production and customer owned Ring Laser Gyroscope Systems, Accelerometers and Inertial Guidance Components.

Required Skills

  • Hands on experience with testing various systems.
  • Determine causes of rejects and modify or repair components as necessary.
  • Assist engineers in implementing new production processes or modifying old processes to meet new standards.
  • Work from complicated operation sheets, blueprints, written and oral instructions.
  • Computer skills, ability to utilize computer-based test and data acquisition equipment.
  • Reports findings and makes corrective action recommendations to supervisor or engineer assigned to project.
  • At times, must use extreme care and considerable judgment in making fine adjustments to various components and in the equipment used to test components.
  • As necessary, instruct other assembly personnel in the proper procedures for testing of various components.
  • Perform calibrations, tests and unique assembly operations on a wide variety of production, pre-production prototype and experimental products.
  • Any other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Required Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required, AA in Electrical Engineering preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in assembly/test operations is preferred.
  • Preference is for a candidate with hands on experience in manufacturing testing techniques on RLG Navigational Systems, Laser Components, Accelerometers and Inertial Sensors.
  • Must have experience and/or demonstrate the ability to read wiring diagrams and test procedures.
  • Must be capable of working with complex assembly problems, recommending corrective action, and implementing such action following supervisory approval.
  • Experience with legacy operating systems is a plus.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US, visa sponsorship not available.
