SECONDARY TOOLING TECH

General job description

Secondary Tooling Tech to perform work to repair and maintain plastic injection molds tools and work in a safe manner and environment, varying from single cavity low volume to multi-cavity high volume molds. This routinely includes disassembly and cleaning of complex molds where indicate and often delicate components are removed for inspection, repair, and cleaning.

Responsibilities

* Perform repairs to mold tools this includes the mechanical, hydraulic and electrical system of the mold

* Make new tool components from a blue print

* Make modifications to mold tools and mold components

* Complete preventative maintenance work to mold tools this includes the mechanical, hydraulic and electrical system of the mold

* Any Other thing asked by Toolroom Supervisor as in moving molds on a fork truck

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

* 1+ year of injection molding experience, or other machining experience

Mechanically inclined know how to use basic hand tools as in hand grinders and mechanical tools

What Will Put You Ahead

* 4 year Journeyman Toolmaker

* 2+ years experience working in a tool shop

* Experience attending to mold breakdowns to identify the root cause and solve the problem

* Experience setting up and operating lathes, mills & surface grinders and/or other manufacturing machinery

* Experience using precision measurement instruments such as micrometers, gauges and dial calipers to check the tooling components dimensions
