Job Title: Mechanic Structural Duration: 8 Months Assignment Location: Jacksonville, FL 32221 Shifts: 1st shift 6:00 am - 2:30 pm Summary: This mechanic maintains, repairs, and modifies aircraft structures and structural components of moderate difficulty. Responsibilities include maintaining and repairing aircraft components, including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components. The role requires applying technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems to determine equipment malfunctions and utilizing expertise to restore equipment condition and operation. Comprehensive technical expertise is necessary to solve moderate to complex problems by interpreting technical documentation such as blueprints or manufacturers' manuals. Job Requirements: Thorough knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting, repair procedures, and part replacement. Broad knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modifications and repair. Basic knowledge of electrical theory. Thorough knowledge of aircraft-specific tools, including test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, sheet metal brakes, and shears. Working knowledge of technical publications. Receives technical guidance from a supervisor or higher-level technician as required. Occasionally required to lead teams through complex aircraft-related tasks. May be required to make entries in aircraft logs and records. Must be able to prioritize workload to maintain schedules on assigned projects. Day-to-Day: Repairing overhaul structures for F18-EF Trailing Edge Flap. Must Haves: Basic working knowledge of MS Office Suite. Close tolerance drilling. Blueprint reading and part location experience. Position is offered by a no fee agency.
