HonorHealth is looking for a Medical Assistant to work in Employee Heath at the Deer Valley Hospital campus. This is a clinic setting that treats worker's comp injuries, exposures, mask fittings, new hire health assessments and immunizations. Employee Health is a very fast-paced environment that supports HonorHealth Employees, Medical Staff Members and Volunteers. This team of RNs, MAs, NPs and Providers are highly productive and professional that is very cohesive and uses their strengths in roles they can thrive. The team has a highly innovative growth strategy and blending Occupational Health with the needs of the Community. The ideal candidate must meet the minimum requirements of a HS diploma/GED, current Basic Life Support (BLS) card and completion of an approved training program OR completion of an unapproved training program and successfully passes the medical assistant examination administered by a certifying organization accredited by either the National Commission for Certifying Agencies or the American National Standards Institute as described by the Arizona Administrative Code (Chapter 16 - Arizona Medical Board - R4-16-401 and R4-16-101) OR completes a United States Armed Forces medical services training program. Other characteristics and skills of someone being successful in this role includes high customer service skills, a learning mindset and must be a team player in addition to two (2) years of MA experience. Join us. Let's go beyond expectations and transform healthcare together. Responsibilities Job Summary The Medical Assistant provides general front and back office support to professional staff. Escorts patients to exam rooms. Maintains clean, neat and well-stocked exam rooms. Must have knowledge of medical front and back office procedures. Provides quality phone service by scheduling patients or referring caller to appropriate party. Answers phone messages from patients promptly. Maintains patient information that is accurate and charts/paperwork are filed correctly. Maintains medical records. Under the direction of a Provider, the Medical Assistant performs a variety of duties in connection with the examination and treatment of patients. May be assigned to a specialist. The MA takes a pro-active approach utilizing available resources to best serve the patient population. Performs a variety of clerical support duties including receptionist, telephone, scheduling, message management and data input. Utilizes knowledge and skill to provide appropriate care in accordance with the organization's policies, procedures and protocols and Arizona validated competencies. The MA works in a team model to improve the patient's experience, create better communication and access to care, and support processes that will improve patient satisfaction.
