As an integral part of our organization, you'll play a crucial role in the Wireless Communications & Integration section in the Engineering Department on the NASA JSC Engineering, Technology and Science II (JETS II) Contract.

Someone in this role would typically have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and a minimum of five (5) years of experience.This position can be hired at any level in our professional career framework, depending on business need at the time of hire.

**International travel may be required. Straight time overtime, 9/80 work schedule (every other Friday off), and/or 1 day of telework per week may be available**

Duties & Responsibilities

Some of your major responsibilities will include:

* The Chief Engineer will be the expert supporting the GRAIL (Gateway Ready Avionics Integration Lab),a critical testing facility of the Gateway Program which will return to the Moon.

* Chief expertise on facility and emulator design fidelity.

* Chief expertise on development and integration of high-fidelity avionic hardware and software integration of the lab.

* Support engineering flight project schedule, procurement documentation, budget and system requirements documents.

* Review integrated analysis of the GRAIL system, hardware and software in relation to other Gateway Systems and the operational environment.

* Participate and contribute to system requirements reviews, preliminary design reviews and critical design reviews.

* Review system level architecture trade studies and analyses that will influence the overall facility design and performance to inform decision making.

* Work with team members and leads to identify risks, develop risk statements, and plan risk responses with mitigation strategies.

* Work and present lab fidelity to customers and boards/panel.

* Perform other duties as required.

* Must have good communication and organizational skills and the ability to work in a team environment.

Qualifications

REQUIRED



  • A BS Engineering degree from an accredited engineering school and a minimum of five (5) years of related experience.
  • On location position - situational telework only.
  • Past experience in development and integration of a high-fidelity integration lab.
  • Understanding of electrical, mechanical and power systems.

PREFERRED



  • BS degree in Engineering from an accredited engineering school.
  • Past experience with NASA.
  • Past experience with Avionics is a plus.
  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.
  • Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
  • Management has the prerogative to select at any level for which the position is advertised.
