Dentist - Torrance State Hospital

As a Dentist at Torrance State Hospital, you will be responsible for providing a comprehensive program of oral and dental examination, diagnosis, and treatment for all patients at the hospital. You will have the opportunity to provide consultative services to the Medical Staff regarding dental and oral diseases, deficiencies, malformations, or disabilities and provide recommendations for plans of treatment. Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment.
• Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• Floating hours according to needs of the hospital.
• Overtime and travel as needed.
• Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Graduation from an approved school of dentistry.
• Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within three months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

Special Requirement:

• You must be in possession of a license to practice dentistry issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Dentistry.

Other Requirements:

• PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

• A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening.
• This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
  • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
