Description

Candidates should reside in or around Buffalo, Cambridge, Isanti, Monticello, Princeton, Ramsey, St. Cloud, or St. Joseph, MN.

JOB PURPOSE:
Engage in the Construction team efforts and strategies by applying advanced knowledge of the latest technologies to build, splice, maintain, and support Midco's fiber optic network.

KEY FUNCTIONS:



  • Splicing fiber optic cables in both outdoor and indoor settings.
  • Guarantee all fiber assignments are completed with high accuracy by performing pre-checks to verify traffic and ensure accurate labeling, maintaining fiber documentation with 100% precision.
  • Ensure the integrity of the fiber system by using approved industry test procedures.
  • Reading, creating and maintaining accurate splicing schematics and diagrams in GIS fiber management platform.
  • Possess an in-depth knowledge of RF, fiber, and HFC systems.
  • Resolve problems and questions for Field Operations, while providing optimal internal customer service.
  • Inspect completed work for compliance and quality assurance.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of technological developments in the industry.
  • Read, comprehend, and utilize cable system maps and plans in both AutoCAD and GIS format.
  • Assist in preparing site surveys.
  • Prepare asbuilts and update maps accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Verify that all project documents are fully completed and remain current.
  • Complete Construction First Time Right certification within 90 days of hire and consistently apply principles in all aspects of work.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Midco's safety program, enforce safety rules and procedures, wear appropriate safety apparel (including hard hats, safety vests, OSHA approved boots), and operate all equipment safely.
  • Maintain a current, valid driver's license, operate and drive a Company vehicle in accordance with all Midco policies, and maintain a safe driving record (no DUI in the last five years).
  • Follow and serve as a role model in displaying Midco's Core Values and Leadership Success Drivers.
  • Adhere to Midco's privacy guidelines to ensure each customer's privacy.
  • Maintain regular attendance as required by your position.

The hiring range for this position is $23.00 - $34.00. This pay range is inclusive of multiple job levels. The actual base pay offered will be determined based on multiple factors including the level of job offered, internal equity, location, and the individual's job-related knowledge, skills and experience. This position is hourly and may be eligible for additional compensation such as overtime and career progression pay increases. In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for an annual bonus plan based on company and/or individual performance.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:



  • The employee may occasionally be required to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or carry loads of up to 84 lbs.
  • The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.
  • The employee may frequently be exposed to outside weather conditions and may occasionally be exposed to moving mechanical parts, high, precarious places, risk of electrical shock, and risk of radiation and vibration.
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and remain flexible in a dynamic work environment.
  • Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure, especially when dealing with urgent repairs or customer issues.
  • Keen attention to detail to ensure accuracy and quality in all aspects of operations.
  • Must be prepared to travel on short notice and work extended, flexible hours. Travel may include up to 70% of scheduled hours.
  • Employees may be required to work in excess of 40 hours per week and other than normal business hours, such as holidays, evenings and weekends as business demands.
  • Must be able to climb poles, ladders, and other structures with proper equipment, working within manufacturer's capacity for all equipment.
