Summary of Job Duties:The Financial Aid Analyst position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Financial Aid Office. This position is a member of the Student Service Division, working under direct supervision of the Financial Aid Associate Director. The Financial Aid Analyst will assist in the administration of federal, state and institutional student aid programs for a diverse population of undergraduate students. They will be accountable for ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations and institutional policies governing student financial aid.

1.Must be able to advise students and parents concerning processes, procedures, and policies that govern Title IV Federal and Arkansas State Financial Aid. Telephone and electronic advising as well as face-to-face advising are required
2.Meets with students and parents concerning the financial aid application process, types of financial aid available, and deadlines for applying for aid. Assists in completing the required forms when requested.
3.Serves as liaison between service area high schools and UAHT promoting financial aid programs. Extensive travel to high schools will be required as well as frequent daytime and evening presentations and workshops. Presents financial literacy workshops to high school students.
4.Reviews financial aid application data received on the Institutional Student Information Record (ISIR). Must be able to appropriately document and resolve all conflicts listed on ISIR.
5.Processes document tracking and verification notices to student when verification documents are incorrect, lacking information, or additional information is needed.
6.Responsible for verifying student files selected for the verification process as required by Federal Regulations
7.Maintains, verifies, and updates student records.
8.Other duties as assigned.

Work is typically performed in an office environment. Has daily contact with students, staff, faculty and the public, therefore, must have a positive and friendly demeanor. Must keep information confidential. Extensive use of computer requires long periods of sitting at a desk and reviewing student files. Extended hours may be necessary during peak periods.

*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (spoken and written)
*Ability to prioritize and manage a significant workload.
*Ability to work independently and make decisions based on guidelines.
*Financial aid experience preferred.
*Working knowledge of federal financial aid programs and supporting regulations preferred
*Working knowledge of current tax forms, regulations, and the implications of such regulations on financial aid preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree required.
