TEAM UP WITH US! The Parts Training Specialist is responsible for developing, organizing and delivering specialized training programs that will equip our Parts team with the product knowledge, skills and tools required to excel in their roles. DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES? WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Confer with management and/or Parts employees to determine training objectives.
- Develop the course material to give all students a broad and in-depth knowledge of Parts departmental functions, including outlines, texts, handouts, tests and training exercises.
- Facilitate training classes based on classroom and equipment availability, in coordination with the Learning Consultants. Maintain good condition of classroom and training equipment.
- Lecture class on Safety, Dealer Business System functions, Warehouse management System functions, SIS applications, following outline, handouts, and texts.
- Demonstrate procedures being taught, such as DBS and CAT websites and program, as well as parts assembly processes.
- Observe trainees in classroom exercises and respond to trainees' questions.
- Administer written and practical exams.
- Monitor, evaluate and document employee training progress and performance, providing constructive feedback and personalized coaching to ensure continuous growth.
- Maintain accurate training attendance logs, and assessment results for all employees undergoing training.
- Participate in meetings, seminars, and training sessions to obtain information useful to training facility and integrate information into training program.
- Coordinate costs and participation of Parts employees in professional training provided externally.
- Coordinate software training for DBS, WMS and SIS applications.
- Provide parts ordering and processes related training to assigned customers of the organization.
- Maintain knowledge of Parts operations and software.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Caterpillar Parts program/department experience preferred.
- Warehouse Management System (WMS) and customer service experience preferred.
- Passion to educate and be dedicated to the personal improvement of students and find value and satisfaction in developing their skills and knowledge.
- Strong inter-personal and leadership skills.
- Ability to present educational information in a way that brings interest and enthusiasm to the classroom. Leads classroom activities with a variety of hands-on and "book" learning in a way that keeps students motivated and engaged.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Ability to process paperwork and utilize office equipment (including personal computer, phone, typewriter, copiers, etc.).
- Ability to develop routine protocols as well as identify when the routines do not apply in a specific situation and handle exceptions as needed. The position requires the ability to develop priorities and adjust work plans to meet deadlines not only for the employee, but also for their team and classroom members.
- Demonstrated dedication to safety programs and personal responsibility.
- Moderate computer skills.
- Ability to move around continuously throughout warehouse and/or classroom.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
