Full Time 40 Hours/Week Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm Remote, Onsite 1 day/month On-Call Rotation Summary: The Epic Cache/IRIS Database Administrator (DBA) will be responsible for managing and maintaining the Epic Cache/IRIS database environment within a pediatric healthcare setting. This role ensures the performance, reliability, and availability of critical Epic applications to support patient care and operational excellence. Responsibilities: 1. Database Administration:
- Install, configure, and maintain Epic Cache/IRIS databases to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Monitor database health, including backups, indexing, and storage utilization.
- Manage database upgrades, patches, and hotfixes in collaboration with Epic and IT teams.
- Assist with Enterprise Microsoft SQL support as needed.
2. Performance Monitoring and Tuning:
- Analyze and resolve database performance issues, including query optimization and resource allocation.
- Implement proactive measures to maintain high availability and minimize downtime.
3. System Integration and Collaboration:
- Work closely with the Epic application and infrastructure teams to support integrations and system interoperability.
- Collaborate with network and server teams to ensure alignment of resources and configurations.
4. Data Security and Compliance:
- Implement and maintain security protocols to ensure compliance with HIPAA, HITRUST, and other healthcare regulations.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure data integrity and privacy.
5. Support and Troubleshooting:
- Provide advanced support for database-related issues, including incident resolution and root cause analysis.
- Act as a liaison between Epic technical support and the healthcare IT team.
6. Documentation and Training:
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for database configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Train IT staff and end-users on relevant database features and best practices.
Other information: Technical Expertise:
- Proficiency in Epic Cache/IRIS database management, scripting, and tuning.
- Familiarity with Epic Systems modules and Clarity reporting.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Enterprise SQL (Desired)
- Strong understanding of healthcare IT standards and regulations.
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
Education and Experience:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience as an Epic Cache DBA or in a similar role.
