POSITION SUMMARY
Leads and manages technology and cybersecurity projects from beginning to end, collaborating with IT Leadership, the Project Management Office (PMO), and other stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and on budget. The IT Project Manager is a part of the IT Leadership team and ensures the successful delivery of IT projects and maintaining robust IT governance. The IT Project Manager may also assume other IT department duties as needed.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leads and manages IT projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
- May be assigned projects that are IT-adjacent, where the budget falls outside of the IT Department, but the duties and responsibilities are IT-focused.
- Collaborate with the Project Management Office (PMO) within the operations division to ensure consistent project management practices across the organization.
- With IT Leadership and the PMO, develop and report on project Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, including IT, cybersecurity, compliance, vendors, contractors, and the PMO, to define project objectives, deliverables, and timelines.
- Ensure effective project execution and continuously monitor project progress.
- Identify and mitigate project risks and issues, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Prepare and present project status reports to IT leadership and other stakeholders.
- Utilizes Purchasing Department to obtain proposals, participate in bidding process, negotiate and execute contracts, communicate with various service providers and labor contractors, and procure material and services to manage project costs effectively
- Work within the IT governance, risk management, and compliance frameworks, assisting with the administration of IT governance.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Informatics, Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, a related field, or its’ equivalent in a combination of education and experience minimum.
- Project Management certification such as PMP or its equivalent in a combination of education and experience preferred.
Experience:
- 10 years’ experience in a technical field minimum.
- 2 years’ experience in managing technology projects minimum.
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality.
- Proficiency in project management tools and software.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
- Ability to communicate with individuals at all levels and work as part of a team
- Strong problem solving and decision-making skills to identify, anticipate and resolve problems at hand
- Working knowledge of project management process, financial and business risk analysis, methods and modeling techniques
