Responsible for overseeing a team of respiratory therapists. This role involves providing guidance, support, and training to team members, as well as ensuring that they are providing high-quality respiratory care to patients.
Does this position require Patient Care? Yes Essential Functions -Hires, trains, and supervises respiratory therapists, including setting performance standards, providing feedback, and conducting performance evaluations. -Ensures that respiratory therapists are providing appropriate care to patients, and that care is consistent with established protocols and guidelines. -Monitors the quality of care provided by the team, and takes steps to address any deficiencies or issues that arise. -Oversee the maintenance and repair of respiratory therapy equipment, and ensure that equipment is functioning properly. -Manages the budget for respiratory therapy services, and ensures that resources are allocated properly. -Maintains accurate records of patient care and other administrative tasks related to respiratory therapy services. Education Experience in a supervisory or management role 2-3 years required - Knowledge of respiratory therapy techniques and equipment. - Proficiency in performing basic respiratory care interventions such as oxygen therapy and airway management. - Ability to perform patient assessments and monitor patient progress. - Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot equipment and patient issues. - Ability to adapt in changing situations and respond appropriately in emergency situations.
