JOB SUMMARY:

The Deputy Program Manager (DPM) is responsible for managing and supporting designated sites and personnel within their region to achieve program and customer objectives. The DPM will assist the Program Manager (PM) in overseeing all contractor personnel assigned to their areas of responsibility. This role is crucial for ensuring the quality and efficiency of the contract, addressing technical issues, and optimizing business processes. The DPM will actively support and promote the company's vision, mission, and values.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Oversee large-scale and complex projects in challenging environments.
  • Advise project team members on developing detailed project schedules, status reports, and projections.
  • Provide strategic guidance and support to project teams, particularly during difficult client situations.
  • Exhibit overall project leadership while staying engaged with day-to-day project activities.
  • Nurture existing client relationships and establish new ones.
  • Offer expert operational and administrative leadership, as well as site management.
  • Ensure the health, safety, welfare, development, and proper training of all assigned employees.
  • Collaborate with staff to ensure the timely and accurate fulfillment of contractual requirements, data collection, and performance reporting.
  • Provide leadership, training, and development to foster a culture of continuous improvement and high performance within the assigned sites.
  • Develop and deliver briefings and presentations to senior leadership and U.S. government representatives.
  • Ensure personnel comply with host country, company, federal, and state laws, regulations, and requirements.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong interpersonal abilities to lead, coach, and supervise a team.
  • Ability to conduct research, analyze events, metrics, and data, and write reports effectively.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and make sound decisions.
  • Must be willing to travel 30% of the time to Iraq.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or a minimum of ten years of experience managing operations and leading a large contract with a diverse workforce of U.S. and foreign nationals in Iraq, Africa, or Afghanistan.
  • Knowledge of US Air Force operations and contracting support during contingencies.
  • Ability to analyze technical problems, the impact on business, and create solutions suitable for current and future business environments.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK CONDITIONS:
  • The assignment location may be remote and austere, requiring adaptability and resilience.
  • Must be able to work long hours in varying weather conditions and hazardous environments.
  • Remain prepared for the possibility of having to relocate on short notice and under challenging conditions.
  • Must have the physical stamina to endure long periods of standing, walking, and potentially strenuous activities.
  • Prepared to respond to emergencies, including participating in evacuation or crisis management procedures as necessary.
  • Able to adapt to changing work conditions, including shifts in workload, tasks, and environmental factors.
