Position Summary: Under limited supervision, counsel students in regard to different types of financial aid available, review and verify application materials for completeness of information and accuracy. Counsel students and families regarding financial aid processes and other related university related interactions.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Guide students and families through the student financial aid application process and inform them of overall aid policies and procedures
- Counsel students concerning aid eligibility by maintaining a strong working knowledge of institutional policies which interact with financial aid, including but not limited to, admissions, enrollment, degree objectives, academic progress and advising
- Assist students in developing the most appropriate financial aid program/package for them specifically, considering specific circumstances and eligibilities
- Effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, with a flexible and collaborative approach
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, and institutional financial aid programs, regulations and policies. Ability to apply this knowledge to package student awards and disburse funds.
- Conduct follow-up sessions with students regarding personal needs and financial support unique to their situation
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree preferred and a minimum of twoof progressive experience directly related to the duties specifiedor an equivalent combination of education/experience
- A demonstrated capacity for independent work.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Skill to interpret and apply various program rules and regulations
- Capacity to reason logically, to draw valid conclusions and make appropriate recommendations
- Capability to present clear and concise information both orally and in written reports
- Ability to counsel students regarding the financial aid program

Physical Demand and Working Conditions:
- Work is sedentary in nature that at times requires exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a consistent amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
