Gradient, a Geosyntec Company, is seeking a motivated and resourceful Early-Career Epidemiologist who will assist in conducting epidemiology summaries, analyses, and reviews for science-based evaluations with a focus on human health risk. Candidate has excellent attention to detail and quantitative skills. They will work collaboratively with epidemiologists and scientists in other disciplines (e.g., toxicologists, exposure scientists, human health risk assessors) and should enjoy technically challenging work for projects that involve epidemiologic analyses, systematic review, weight-of-evidence evaluation, regulatory comment, litigation support, product safety assessments, and human health risk assessment regarding dietary, pharmaco-, pesticide, occupational, consumer product, and other environmental exposures. Candidate will have the opportunity to join our growing practice in one of our office locations: Seattle, WA.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Support projects by helping a team conduct epidemiologic analyses, systematic reviews, meta-analyses and hazard-, exposure-, and risk assessments, review epidemiologic or exposure studies, and extract data.
  • Perform QA/QC accurately and efficiently
  • Review results of literature searches and help to identify relevant studies and critically evaluate epidemiologic studies.
  • Assist in the preparation of deliverables (g., help draft reports, memoranda, proposals, agency comments, presentations).
  • Types of project work may include environmental and occupational health assessments, litigation support, regulatory comment, product safety assessments, and site-specific human health risk assessment.


Education and Licensure

  • Bachelor's degree in science field, preferably biological sciences or related field. (required)
  • Advanced degree (e.g., M.S. or Ph.D.) in epidemiology (preferred)


Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • At least 2 (5+ preferred) years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
  • Exceptional written and oral communication. (required)
  • Strong statistical skills and the ability to critically evaluate epidemiology data and studies. (required)
  • Strong organizational skills (required)
  • Knowledge of food, consumer or medical product, pharmaceutical, pesticide, chemical, occupational, or environmental regulations, air modeling, and other exposure assessment techniques. (preferred)

This opportunity will be posted for at least five days. Below are the potential compensation ranges that we in good faith believe are applicable for this role at the time of this posting and are only applicable for jobs to be performed in the specified location(s) below. The typical base salary range for this position is just one component of Geosyntec's total compensation package for employees. Actual compensation will be determined based on education, experience, skill set and location.

  • Minimum Salary: $65,995/year / Maximum Salary: $102,005/year (Seattle, WA)
