Ardent Health Services (AHS) is a national health care services company headquartered in Nashville, TN. Through its subsidiaries, Ardent owns and operates nearly 200 sites of care. POSITION SUMMARY

The Enterprise Architect (EA) designs and oversees IT infrastructure to ensure alignment with an organization's business goals and strategies. They analyze the current systems architecture, identify areas for improvement, and develop comprehensive plans to integrate new technologies and processes.


Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with senior leadership and business stakeholders to understand the organization's strategic objectives. Translate these objectives into actionable technology roadmaps and architectural guidelines.
  • Ensures IT solutions align with business needs, enhance operational efficiency, and drive competitive advantage. Regularly assess the impact of architectural decisions on business outcomes.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices. Recommend innovative solutions that support business growth and agility.
  • Establish and enforce architectural standards, principles, and policies. Monitor compliance across projects and initiatives.
  • Work closely with vendors, solution architects, infrastructure teams, information security teams, and project managers to design scalable, reliable, and secure systems.
  • Identify and mitigate architectural risks related to scalability, security, performance, and data integrity.
  • Collaborate with the PMO, stakeholders, IT leaders, and cross-functional teams, including clinical support teams, infrastructure specialists, data specialists, information security, vendors, and external partners, to ensure seamless integration of systems.
  • Clearly communicate architectural decisions, trade-offs, and rationale to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Cultivate strong, trust-based relationships through active listening, appropriate feedback, sincerity, integrity, and genuine concern for the well-being of colleagues, clinical staff, patients, and leadership.
  • Provide guidance to IT team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 7 years of overall IT experience.
  • 3 years of experience as a technical lead, business architect, or solutions architect.
  • Experience with healthcare-specific systems, compliance (such as HIPAA), interoperability standards (like HL7, FHIR, DICOM), and electronic health records (EHR) systems and health information exchanges (HIE).
  • Prior healthcare experience preferred.
  • ITIL Certification preferred.
  • TOGAF 9/10 Certification preferred.
  • At least one recent technical certificate is preferred from the following vendors Microsoft, AWS, Google, VMware, Cisco, or Epic.
