Responsibilities

Heartland Behavioral Health Services has been providing care for children and adolescents for over 100 years in Nevada, Missouri. We treat male and female patients ages 4 through 17 in both

acute, residential, and outpatient services for conditions ranging from depression, anxiety and other mood disorders to recovering from a traumatic event. All of our programs have been designed and tailored to help our patients grow and prosper. Heartland is nestled within 50 secluded acres in Nevada, Missouri, providing the perfect rural area setting for our residents to heal and grow. A reprieve from everyday life, our peaceful environment allows residents to return to the basics and reconnect with themselves and others. We also offer leisure activities, such as baseball, basketball and an equestrian program, that allow children and adolescents to enjoy themselves while building self-confidence, trust and teamwork.

The Director of Clinical Services assumes responsibility and accountability for the delivery of clinical/program services for the facility to include acute care, RTC/PRTF and Outpatient. Manages employees and Allied Health Professionals in the provision of care and service according to professional's standards established by state and federal governing authorities, consistent with facility philosophy of care. Develops and implements policies and procedures consistent with the applicable laws and standards. In collaboration with the Director of Nursing allocates clinical resources in an efficient and economic manner to enable each patient to attain or maintain the highest attainable physical, emotional, and psychosocial wellbeing. In collaboration with the Director of Nursing, oversees/directs other services, professionals, consultants, and organizations to develop, support and coordinate patient care, related administrative functions and to represent the interest of the patients, staff and facility. Ensures 24/7 professional care coverage is maintained and serves as a resource to all clinical programs 24/7. DCS must be willing to carry a caseload, as needed, in the event of shortages and paid time off of therapists.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains program practice that is consistent with all state/federal/TJC guidelines.
  • Efficiently works on an administrative level with clinical departments and a peer level with other departments and interfaces as needed with other hospital and RTC services.
  • Take on a caseload as needed to assist the clinical department.
  • Within six months of hire, will demonstrate the management strengths and capabilities necessary to successfully lead assigned services, will demonstrate knowledge of RTC versus Acute Care and outpatient and related problem-solving skills.

Pay range and compensation package - Salary Range is $100k-$120k with a $20,000.00 SIGN ON BONUS to be paid out over a TWO-YEAR PERIOD. Also included is a $5,000 Relocation Bonus!


Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Documented knowledge and experience within healthcare services and the unique requirements of acute/long-term behavioral healthcare facilities.
  • Graduate degree and licensure in one of the healthcare sciences with three years' experience in progressive management positions within behavioral healthcare and licensed field of expertise. LCSW is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years clinical experience working with children and adolescents in a behavioral healthcare setting, to include outpatient residential treatment and/or acute hospital treatment.
  • Must have high clinical skill competency and/or certification in at least one evidence-based practice such as TF-CBT, ITCT, DBT, and/or EMDR.
  • Must have the willingness and ability to supervise graduate and undergraduate students.
  • Ability to supervise provisionally licensed therapists in their field of study is preferred.
  • Must possess excellent value-based leadership skills and be able to identify "the why "as it pertains to the candidate choosing and remaining in this profession.
