The Job

As Vice President, Field Sales, you will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for SCAN's field sales organization, driving membership growth, market expansion, and competitive positioning. Reporting to the Chief Growth Officer, you will lead a multi-regional sales team and oversee all field sales distribution channels-including broker sales, community sales, and provider-aligned sales strategies. This role requires a visionary leader with a deep understanding of Medicare Advantage sales, a strong command of market dynamics, and the ability to optimize sales execution across diverse geographies. You will play a pivotal role in shaping SCAN's growth strategy, fostering a high-performance sales culture, and strengthening relationships with key stakeholders across the healthcare ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Growth Execution



  • Develop and execute a comprehensive field sales strategy that drives membership growth, maximizes market share, and aligns with SCAN's enterprise goals.
  • Establish sales performance targets, forecasting models, and incentive structures to drive accountability and revenue growth.
  • Identify new market opportunities and lead go-to-market strategies for service area expansions, product launches, and competitive positioning.
  • Partner with marketing, digital, and product teams to enhance lead generation, conversion strategies, and member retention efforts.


Field Sales Channel Oversight



  • Lead a high-performing, geographically dispersed sales team, including regional sales directors, broker account executives, community liaisons, and provider engagement specialists.


  • Strengthen community-based sales models, enhancing partnerships with key organizations, faith-based groups, and grassroots networks.


  • Align provider-affiliated sales strategies to maximize referrals and deepen SCAN's presence within key healthcare networks.


Operational Excellence & Compliance



  • Implement best-in-class sales enablement tools, data analytics, and CRM solutions to optimize field execution and decision-making.


  • Ensure all sales activities comply with CMS regulations, state licensing requirements, and corporate compliance policies.


  • Establish standardized sales training, onboarding, and professional development programs to enhance salesforce capabilities.


  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and regulatory changes, making data-driven recommendations to leadership.


Executive Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement



  • Serve as a thought leader and strategic advisor to the Chief Growth Officer and SCAN's executive leadership team.


  • Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, provider relations, compliance, and member services to create a seamless sales-to-service experience.


  • Represent SCAN in industry forums, community partnerships, and external stakeholder engagements, positioning SCAN as the Medicare Advantage plan of choice.


Education & Experience



  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or equivalent executive experience preferred.


  • 15+ years of Medicare Advantage sales leadership, with a proven track record of driving multi-regional field sales growth.


  • 10+ years of experience managing large-scale broker and community-based sales teams.


  • Deep expertise in Medicare Advantage distribution strategies, regulatory compliance, and market dynamics.


  • Experience leading high-growth, performance-driven sales teams in complex healthcare environments.


Leadership & Skills



  • Strategic Vision & Execution: Ability to develop and implement field sales strategies that scale across multiple markets.


  • Sales Performance Optimization: Expertise in data-driven sales management, CRM tools, and performance analytics.


  • Stakeholder Influence & Negotiation: Strong ability to manage external partnerships, FMOs, providers, and key industry relationships.


  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Proven ability to align sales strategies with marketing, provider engagement, and operational teams.


  • Compliance & Regulatory Acumen: Strong working knowledge of CMS regulations, DOI requirements, and Medicare sales best practices.


  • People Leadership & Talent Development: Ability to inspire, coach, and drive high engagement across a distributed workforce.
