Job Type: Full-time with overtime

Experience: 3 years

Reports to: Territory Manager, no supervisory responsibility

Wage: $28 - $32 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)

Job Summary:

The main duties of the Mechanic position include performing a full range of repair and modification work on heavy equipment vehicles. This is a full-time position that requires overtime through peak season, reports to the Territory Manager, and has no supervisory responsibility.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Be prompt and timely for all assigned shifts, schedules, and projects.
  • Perform a full range of repair and modification work on heavy equipment vehicles to include, but not


limited to light-duty, heavy-duty, and Redi-Mix trucks, backhoes, loaders, and miscellaneous equipment.



  • Repair tires, wheels, wheel bearings, idler wheels, idler bearings, and oil seals.
  • Replaces suspension arms, torsion bars, stabilizer bars, etc.
  • Repair hydraulic and air brake systems.
  • Determine the nature and extent of repairs required.
  • Perform major and minor repairs on engines, power transmissions, transfers, and related electrical, fuel, and hydraulic components.
  • Use technical manuals and other publications to identify and order repair parts.
  • Operate and inspect machines or equipment to diagnose defects.
  • Examine parts for damage or excessive wear, using testing equipment such as compression testers, computer software tools, test meters, micrometers, gauges, and overall strong diagnostic skills.
  • Test overhauled equipment to ensure operating efficiency before being released to the field.
  • Complete welding, run overhead crane, lifts, and jacks.
  • Willingness to perform duties outside the normal scope of work (i.e. work in poor weather conditions or outside normal hours).



Position Requirements:



  • Consent to authorization of a pre-employment work screen, Motor Vehicle Record request, and drug test.
  • Accreditation from a school of mechanics or 3 plus years working with heavy construction equipment.
  • Class B CDL.
  • Understand instructions from supervisory positions, both written and verbal.
  • MUST HAVE YOUR OWN SET OF TOOLS
